I wanted to stop in quickly today and wish you and yours a wonderful
New Year and a prosperous one as well!! I appreciate you so much!

I look forward to another great year of sales tips, new projects for
you to enjoy, new resourses, and most of all growth in both your
business and mine.

I know that it’s time to sit down and get those goals and dreams
updated and refreshed for 2009 and I am working on that. How about
you? I have a special note book that I use because I like to sit and
put paper to pen and just let my thoughts wander and enjoy. However
you set your goals, have fun and remember to update them through
the coming year.

Take care and we will see you in 2009!!!!

There is still time to sell

While Christmas is right around the corner, there is still plenty of time to sell. Make sure you take advantage of the last minute shoppers, (like me, Yes I am still working on it) and haul out your overstocks, demos, and any other products you can offer.

Bundling together several products at a great price makes for a super gift. Throw in the beautiful wrapping or basket and you have a winner. Carry prewrapped items with you as you are out and about. You never know who you run into that would need something quick. The teller at the bank with sick kids and no present for mom.. yup, you got to covered. The husband who is trying to figure out that the wife likes… hey, you have the answer!

That a few minutes today and go through your items and see what you can put together to get yourself some last minute sales. Hey and don’t forget the Stocking Suffers!

Merry Christmas!

Is your store open for business?

Category : Biz Tips

One of the downfalls of a direct sales business is that fact that sometimes it is hard to see an item that your customer may be interested in purchasing. Describing said item may not fulfill her expectations and you could lose a sale.

Now some reps are able to carry display items and I usually sold more of an item that someone could touch, feel and test. If there was something I thought was a great deal, a fabulous idea or just had a great feeling about it, I would buy extra and sell out of my inventory.

One of the most important things we have to use as direct sellers is our store.

What? You don’t have a store?

Sure you do. It is your catalog. In this down market, your catalog, your store, needs to be your best friend. If you are not investing in books or mini mailers to pass out and samples when you can, you are missing a key part of being successful in direct sales.

Oh I know what you are thinking. They are expensive! But lets look at the alternative. If you are not passing out books, how can you expect to continue to grow your business? This is a form of advertising and it is critical to your business. People need to know what you sell. If they are interested in a particular item, you can use your store to show them. If you can get your hands on a sample or a tester of the product, do so. The extra mile will work in your favor. I have been even known to order the item and accept returns if does not meet their standards.

If you are not willing to go the extra mile, spend a bit more on your business, then how can you expect people to just buy from you because you ask? Tangible items work, even if it is just a catalog or mini mailer.

Hey and don’t forget to have your contact info on there! I mean really.. Nothing should leave your hands without it. Its kind of hard to place an order when the rep doesn’t care enough to maintain her store. You may have given away business to your competition as well. I have picked up other reps catalogs and checked for their info. If it was not on there, guess what? My info got placed on the back. Sorry girls. All’s fair in love and business. Don’t let your business walk out the door and into the comptetition. But then that’s a story for another day.

Jumpin Jammin January

It is a well known fact that if you get a start on your January bookings now you can have a Jumpin and JAMMIN January.

With the holidays impeading a bit on parties, many direct sellers have success booking in advance. After you take a few days off for Christmas and New Years, you can be totally ready for January and into Febuary by working hard this month.

Don’t let the holiday season lull you into no work for January. Get your specials lined up then get on the phone. Set yourself a goal of how many bookings to get and don’t stop until you have them. Ask for referrals as well. You can do it!!

Awesome Contest and a Great Read

Category : Biz Tips

I found this blog tonight and I knew I had to tell you about it. D, the author, is a lottery winner. Yup, for real. The site is called Real Lottery Winner and D has some great stories on there.

Now I think quite a bit about what I would do if I won the lottery. Everyone has to dream, right? How I would spend it; How much I would save and invest; Who I would give money to. Kind of a plan, just in case, coz you never know. D. talks a lot about his Random Acts of Kindness that he does and they are pretty neat. I think that the people that win the lottery are given tests by God to see how well they take care of others in need and it seems like D is doing a pretty good job of it. I would love to be able to do the same some day.

Right now D is holding a contest for his readers and maybe you can win a Mac. I know that I am in need as my poor PC is slowing ditching me, but I also know that here are others who probably need it more than I. I think that way, you know? If I don’t get something , I know its for a reason. Someone was in greater need and God chose them. OK, I am a bit weird, but that’s ok. But it also wouldn’t hurt my feelings in the least if I won!

Anyway, Real Lottery Winner is the place and you can read about his donations and fun things that he has been able to do with his lottery winnings. I think it is an awesome way to document ones journey thru this neat part of your life and to be able to watch yourself grow and develop into something great that many will remember for ever.

WTG D. and I hope that you continue on with your dreams and focus on others that are in need. Blessings to you!

Business Plans are looming

Category : Biz Tips

With 2008 winding down quicker than we can comprehend, it is time to think about getting our goals and business plans set and updated for 2009.

I sit down with a notebook and gaze out to nowhere and be still and listen. Soon ideas and goals start to formulate. Jotting things down and then expanding and editing usually helps me onto the track of where I am going and where I should be going.

Have you set a date to sit and formulate your plans? Time’s a tickin. Before we know it, the holiday season madness is on us and the new year has begun. Take the time now and rough your plans out and come January, you will be ready to hit the streets running.
